Olive Oil added to FEDERBIO Integrity Platform

Integrity Platform enhanced with the inclusion of processing yield, in order to check the plausibility of olive oil volumes against olive volume and surface area.

Different to grain processing of the product must be included. There is a first plausibility check regarding the olive volumes that can be produced on a certain acreage or using a certain number of olive trees. More relevant is however that olive oil results from the pressing of the olives, requiring Check Organic to conduct a plausibility check of the traded volume of olive oil. The processing yield of olive oil from olives must therefore be included in the mass balance calculation. In this scenario, there is a single product that is the processing input, as well as single product that is the product output. While one single data point is required to identify the basis of the production (surface area or number of trees), an additional data point is required to consider the processing of the product: the press factor of the olives. This technological alteration was implemented In November 2017 for the Federbio Integrity Platform.
